UnitedHealthcare: JarvisWRAP for March 10

March 10, 2025
UnitedHealthcare

Tip of the week

Change to beneficiary use of the Disaster/Emergency SEP

Beginning April 1, 2025, individuals wishing to use the Disaster/Emergency SEP must call 1-800-MEDICARE to make an election. Medicare Advantage Organizations and Part D Sponsors can no longer accept elections directly from beneficiaries or their agents using the Disaster/Emergency SEP.

Agent of Record (AOR) status will be protected if your member enrolls from a UnitedHealthcare Qualifying Plan enrollment into another UnitedHealthcare Qualifying Plan enrollment when the member calls 1-800-MEDICARE without the assistance of a renewal eligible agent other than their current AOR per company policy. Qualifying Plans include UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage (MA), MA-PD, Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNP) or Chronic Special Needs Plans (C-SNP).

The AOR must be an active (non-solicitor) selling agent at the time the Qualifying Plan enrollment occurs (i.e., not terminated or in servicing status) and properly credentialed. Coming soon—look for more information in the AOR Guidelines on Jarvis.

Renew Active fitness location search tool update

Premium gyms and fitness locations now appear on the member website UHCRenewActive.com after being temporarily removed. Thank you for your patience.

As a reminder, members can sign in to their member site or the UnitedHealthcare mobile app or call the customer service number on their member ID card to view gyms and fitness locations. They can access their confirmation code needed for gym membership sign up on the member site or mobile app.

Some Medicare Advantage plans, all Employer-Sponsored Group Medicare plans and all AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans from UnitedHealthcare® with Renew Active® provide access to premium locations. Learn more about Renew Active and how to check a plan network in the “Fitness – 2025 Agent Quick Reference Guide” found in Jarvis.

Special Election Period selling opportunities

Outside of the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP), Special Election Periods (SEPs) are opportunities where you can continue to build your book of business throughout the year for Medicare Advantage (MA). SEPs allow eligible consumers to make an enrollment change in accordance with applicable requirements throughout the year. SEPs vary in the qualifications to use them, as well as the types of elections allowed.

The “Election Period Booklet” contains more details on SEPs and can be found on the On Demand Training page on Jarvis.

As a reminder, AARP Medicare Supplement Plans do not require SEPs and can be sold at any time of the year.

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period Compliance Reminders

As we wrap up the last few weeks of the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP), make sure you’re following MA OEP guidelines about communicating with consumers or engaging in marketing activities.

As a reminder, you may not market MA OEP or the option to change plans during this time using MA OEP. However, if a consumer reaches out to let you know they are unhappy with their current Medicare Advantage plan, you can tell them about the MA OEP. Ask if they have changed their plan since Jan. 1, 2025, and learn the reason for their plan change. If they have not already used the MA OEP, they may be eligible for this one-time election period.

You can offer your clients AARP Medicare Supplement Plans year-round

In addition to the SEPs above, did you know you can enroll your clients in an AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan from UnitedHealthcare® at any time of the year? Whether it’s spring or autumn, it’s always a good time to help your clients understand their plan options and see if an AARP Medicare Supplement Plan is right for them.

Get ready to help your clients by registering for state-specific AARP Medicare Supplement Plan trainings or explore national webinars on Jarvis under the National Webinar Calendar.

Looking for marketing materials, but not sure where to begin? UnitedHealthcare has you covered all year round, with materials designed to help promote yourself and AARP Medicare Supplement Plans. Check out the 2025 Sample Campaign Calendar under the Marketing Aids section on Jarvis. This calendar showcases some of the most popular Medicare Supplement materials and gives an example of when and how to use them (but they can be used any time during the year). All the materials featured in the Sample Campaign Calendar and more can be found on the UHC Agent Toolkit.
