Chris Myers, Northeast Regional Sales Director for Wellcare recently sent the following message to agents:
"Some of our members have received letters from Wellcare regarding St. Joseph's Homecare. These letters state that they are no longer participating with Wellcare. We wanted to make sure you are aware that the hospital owns a home care agency under the hospital tax ID. As of 10/23/23 the homecare agency closed and went out of business for ALL payers. This termination, which had to be done in our system, automatically generated letters to members. It is important to note that this does not affect any doctors, groups or the hospital itself, only the homecare agency.
We hope this clears up any confusion about St. Joseph's Homecare. But as always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local regional agency manger."
