With the completion of AEP, UPMC wanted to provide you with some information regarding the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) and their 5-star Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
Medicare beneficiaries in the UPMC for Life service area may be eligible for one or both enrollment periods. It is important to know how they work, who qualifies for them, and what Medicare plan changes can be made.
To help answer any questions you may have or get from Medicare beneficiaries, UPMC has created a reference guide. Here are some helpful OEP and 5-star SEP Talking Points.
Reminder: The 5-star SEP can be used only one time from Dec. 8, 2022, through Nov. 30, 2023. If there are other elections available to the member, those elections should be used first and the 5-star SEP last.
Make sure to check out the 5-star SEP marketing materials, made specifically for you, including the SEP email template. Use this email to send to current leads, or beneficiaries who may have enrolled in another plan during AEP.
If you have any questions about the upcoming enrollment periods, please reach out to your broker manager.
