CMS recently sent out a reminder for best practices for Medicare Advantage Organizations and Part D Sponsors. In the messaging it was recommended that the Pre-Enrollment Checklist be implemented in full when working with/enrolling beneficiaries.
The checklist is available in all of the UPMC enrollment kits, under the additional information section. This form will not only help you, but also give the beneficiary peace of mind that all information is being covered. On the checklist, each of the following is covered:
Understanding the benefits
Understanding Important Rules
Please make sure to incorporate this Pre-Enrollment checklist into all discussions as the first step when meeting with beneficiaries.
