This week is the start of Diabetes Awareness Month. Throughout the month of November and all year, be sure to support those with diabetes by helping clients find the best plan for them. Helping to ensure your clients have access to quality care can help them manage their condition and focus on what matters. With a UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Advantage plan, members can get help managing their health care and budget. You play a key role in helping members understand the benefits available to them.
UnitedHealthcare offers coverage for a wide range of diabetic supplies for members who have been diagnosed with diabetes and have been trained by their provider on how to use the monitor and supplies. Covered items may include diabetic test strips, glucometers and supplies, diabetic insulin pumps and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs).
Resources
To help ensure you and your clients have the key facts about diabetes and our C-SNPs, make use of the resources below.
Eligible UnitedHealthcare Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) members can maximize their over-the counter (OTC) credits through the new Wellness Support offering starting in 2026. Wellness Support will include services provided by The Helper Bees, such as in-home services and caregiver relief, and select fitness items. Members can shop these new offerings through the member site or by phone when their 2026 plan begins. Healthy food and utility benefits will also be available for D-SNP members who qualify for Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI). Members have the flexibility to choose how to spend their OTC credits across their available categories.
View the “OTC + Healthy Food + Utilities – 2026 Quick Reference Guide” in Jarvis and click on the D-SNP OTC Wellness Support tab to learn more. Please do not contact The Helper Bees for more information. Direct members to the number on the back of their ID card for questions. This helps ensure they fully understand their available benefits before making a service purchase.
