Answers to your Integrated Care SEP questions

As a reminder, the Integrated Care SEP allows a once-per-month election for Full Dual eligibles (QMB+, SLMB+1, FBDE) to enroll into an Integrated Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP), where available. This SEP also has guidelines and state regulations that must be followed to stay compliant when choosing this SEP option.

Double check if your client qualifies for any other SEPs. If they do, consider whether another SEP is a better fit than the Integrated Care SEP. If the Integrated Care SEP is the best fit, remember these requirements to enroll in an Integrated D-SNP using this SEP:

  • Ensure your client lives in a market with an Integrated Care plan. See D-SNP State Eligibility for details.
  • Confirm your client is Full Dual and has UnitedHealthcare Medicaid using Medicare & Medicaid Eligibility Lookup on Jarvis. A client must first select the UnitedHealthcare Medicaid plan before joining the eligible Full Dual plan (excludes AZ2, DC, FL3, MA, NJ, VA).

Review the Selling D-SNP page on Jarvis for more detailed information about the Integrated Care SEP.

1 The state of Wisconsin considers SLMB+ a partial dual eligible.

2 AZ: Client must first select the UHC Medicaid plan before joining the UHC Dual Complete AZ-S001 plan (H0321-002-000).

3 FL: Client must first select the UHC LTSS Medicaid plan before joining the UHC Dual Complete FL-Y001 plan (H2509-001-000).

Use this 3-part postcard campaign to reach new consumers who may be eligible for a Special Election Period (SEP).
