Verifying Medicaid eligibility

The Jarvis Medicare & Medicaid Eligibility Lookup tool continues to be unavailable for agents. UHC recognizes this is an inconvenience for writing Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) applications and are actively working to restore the tool. In the meantime, the Producer Help Desk (PHD) has access to alternative verification methods and is available to help verify eligibility in all states with the exception of DE, ID, MN, ND, NH, OR, VT and WY. In these states, PHD can help you submit an image of the Medicaid Award letter to verify eligibility.

Please note, PHD is experiencing longer wait times as a result of increased demand, especially during peak call times. Your patience is appreciated.

What you need to know about CAHPS

From March through June, some Medicare Advantage (MA) and Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) members will be randomly selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to complete the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. Some of the ways agents can help impact survey results include:

  • Ensuring the consumer understands the benefits of the health plan they’re enrolling in
  • Looking up each prescribed medication the consumer takes making sure the consumer understands the cost for each one
  • Telling their members they may receive a survey, and if they do, to please complete it

All Dollar General locations are now accepting the UnitedHealthcare UCard®

UnitedHealthcare continues to expand in-store shopping options for eligible Medicare Advantage (MA) members to shop with their UnitedHealthcare UCard® through the S3 retail network. And as the network of stores continues to grow, UHC wants to remind you that all Dollar General stores are included in the S3 retail network, helping give members a convenient and budget-friendly shopping option! For available benefit credits and rewards to be applied at Dollar General stores, members should use cashier-assisted checkout lanes.

The S3 network also offers access to thousands of participating stores like Walmart, Walgreens, Kroger and CVS, expanding shopping options for members and making it easier to spend their benefit credits and rewards.

UnitedHealthcare also made locating participating stores a breeze with the Store Finder tool. Use this to help your members find a location near them!

5-star marketing materials

Star Ratings are one of many tools available to help Medicare beneficiaries evaluate the quality and performance of their Medicare Advantage (MA) plan. If a plan is rated 5 stars, which is the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) highest rating, you are allowed to sell that plan during a 5-star Special Enrollment Period (SEP) from Dec. 8, 2023, through Nov. 30, 2024. Changing to a 5-star plan may also provide consumers with higher quality care.

AARP Medicare Supplement Guidance campaign

The Guidance campaign outlines why a Medicare supplement plan may be the right choice for your prospective clients. These marketing materials show clients the benefits and features of having an AARP Medicare Supplement plan. It is available as a flyer or postcard on the UHC Agent Toolkit by searching with keyword guidance.

Don’t forget, exciting new capabilities are now live – right at your fingertips! The improvements on Jarvis allow you to view electronic copies of your clients’ billing, underwriting* and enrollment letters for AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans from UnitedHealthcare®.  

Discover how easy it is to access your clients’ billing letters with these simple steps in Jarvis:

  • Navigate to the Book of Business page
  • Search for your client
  • Click on the member information tab
  • Access clients’ electronic letters under Billing Letter History

To view clients’ enrollment and underwriting* letters:

  • In Jarvis, navigate to the Application Status page
  • Search and select your client
  • Scroll to the bottom of the application details
  • View electronic letters under Applicant Letter History
