UnitedHealthcare welcomed Dollar General to the over-the-counter benefit network, helping to give members a convenient and budget-friendly shopping option. Shortly after, UHC was informed of technical challenges Dollar General experienced, which prevented members from using their UnitedHealthcare® UCard™ at Dollar General stores. UHC has been working with Dollar General to ensure their systems support UCard payments. During this time, stores are being trained and prepared to support members shopping with their UCard.
Good news! Many Dollar General stores are ready to accept UCard payments and more stores are expected to be ready in the months ahead. Information will be communicated as the remaining Dollar Generals become live.
Important: To locate Dollar General stores that accept UCard today, and to help ensure members have a positive shopping experience, use the UnitedHealthcare StoreFinder. Members can access the Store Finder on the UCard Hub on their member portal and Agents can locate in-network stores here.
As always, members can use their UCard at a broad network of retailers including Wal-Mart, Publix, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, and many local and national chains. Members can also shop online or by phone and receive convenient home delivery.
Medicaid redetermination is the process through which states redetermine an individual’s Medicaid eligibility. The process was paused during the COVID-19public health emergency (PHE). As of April 1, 2023, all states have reinitiated the process.
Moving forward, toward the end of each month, JarvisWRAP will list the states in which the member termination date is approaching. If a member’s Medicaid benefits are terminated, they will fall into the loss of SNP grace period and have the opportunity to enroll in a different plan. You should receive a secure email if a member is at risk of losing benefits. Please visit the D-SNP section of the member communication page to preview the email.
For state-specific information, please visit your state’s department of health website.
