Verifying Medicaid eligibility

The Jarvis Medicare & Medicaid Eligibility Lookup tool continues to be unavailable for agents. UHC recognizes this is an inconvenience for writing Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) applications and are actively working to restore the tool. In the meantime, the Producer Help Desk (PHD) has access to alternative verification methods and is available to help verify eligibility in all states with the exception of DE, ID, MN, ND, NH, OR and VT. In these states, PHD can help you submit an image of the Medicaid Award letter to verify eligibility.

Please note, PHD is experiencing longer wait times as a result of increased demand, especially during peak call times.

PHD can be reached at 888-381-8581. Para comunicarse con la línea de Ayuda para Productores en español, llame al 1-866-235-5990.

Grow your business with UnitedHealthcare C-SNP offerings

Now that Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP) has wrapped, it’s a great time to focus on consumers who may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). UnitedHealthcare Chronic Special Needs Plans (C-SNP) are designed for consumers with qualifying chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and/or chronic heart failure and include benefits and services tailored to support the qualifying conditions. Most plans include lower medical co-pays, enhanced ancillary benefits (including access to healthy food on select plans), and lower prescription drug costs. They also feature a separate formulary with lower tiering for 23 common drugs for members with the C-SNP conditions. UnitedHealthcare C-SNP members may also receive a credit loaded to their UnitedHealthcare UCard® every month to help pay for healthy food and over-the-counter (OTC) products.

To find out what C-SNP offerings are available in your area, please visit the Medicare Product Portal (Jarvis > Knowledge Center > Medicare Product Portal). You can also sign up for one of the live training sessions to learn all about the UnitedHealthcare C-SNP offerings and how you can support consumers' needs in finding the right plan.

UCard Member Week kicks off today!

UnitedHealthcare UCard® Member Week kicks off today for all MA, D-SNP and C-SNP members with a UCard. UCard Member Week is a great opportunity to connect with your members and promote events that range from discounts to special experiences. Check out the UHC Agent Toolkit and search for Member Week or P1151209 for the Spring UCard Member Week Flyer and social media posts. And be sure to encourage members to visit ucardmemberweek.com for more information about this event.

*Reward offerings may vary by plan and are not available in all plans. Reward program terms of service apply. Rewards must be earned and reported within time frames specified by the plan. Time frames are available at myuhcmedicare.com/rewards.

UHC Agent Toolkit: New C-SNP Toolkit materials now available

You asked and UnitedHealthcare listened! New materials have been posted to the UHC Agent Toolkit to help you reach more consumers who qualify for Chronic Special Needs Plans (C-SNP). Materials include flyers, postcards, Facebook assets, brochures and banners highlighting key values of the C-SNP products including benefit information and OTC-specific materials.

Simply login to the UHC Agent Toolkit and select the “Chronic Special Needs” button on the home page to access all of the customizable C-SNP marketing materials.

Expand your reach with Just in Time Appointment

Just in Time (JIT) appointment offers a more streamlined appointment process designed to save you time and money selling UnitedHealthcare Medicare products during all Medicare selling seasons, including Special Election Periods (SEP). JIT appointment minimizes non-resident appointment fee commission chargebacks, and is a great way to build your book of business by increasing the number of states you can sell in.

And good news! UnitedHealthcare is excited to expand this option to 14 additional states on April 4, 2024, including AK, AZ, DC, DE, HI, ID, MD, NE, NH, NM, SC, SD, UT and WY. JIT appointment is currently active in 17 other states: AR, CT, FL, GA, IA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MS, NV, NC, ND, OK, TN, VA and WV.

To sell, agents must confirm their Ready to Sell (RTS) status on Jarvis shows ‘YES’ in the Licensed & Appointed column for their state(s). The Agent Lifecycle Management (ALM) team will then appoint appropriately licensed and credentialed agents, and any applicable upline(s), when an approved, first-time enrollment or state-specific commission is received for a Medicare plan. Uplines are expected to be aware of their downlines’ selling states and are required to be appropriately licensed in those states. Additional JIT appointment information is available in the Agent Guides on Jarvis.
