Who said too much of a good thing can be bad? When it comes to winning awards, UPMC says… keep ‘em coming! On the heels of earning ANOTHER excellent 5 out of 5 overall star rating from Medicare for their HMO and PPO plans for 2023 and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Accreditation, UPMC for Life has another one to add to the list.
U.S. News & World Report has named UPMC for Life as one of the “Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage and Part D Prescription Drug Plans” for Pennsylvania in 2023 (10-14-22).
Once again, they would like to thank you for your hard work and partnership to UPMC for Life! Your dedication to provide the best possible experience to your clients and members was certainly a huge contribution to them being named among the BEST.
U.S. News & World Report used the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) star ratings’ data for its rankings, including UPMC's recent 5 out of 5 star ratings of both UPMC for Life’s HMO and PPO plans for 2023.
For an insurance company to be eligible for the list of U.S. News & World Report's Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage, all Medicare Advantage plans offered by the insurance company in that state had to be rated overall with at least three out of five stars by CMS. U.S. News & World Report then averaged the CMS Star Ratings for each of the eligible plans and those companies with an average overall rating of 4.5 or more stars earned recognition as a Best Insurance Company for Medicare Advantage.
