Great news! Cigna Healthcare is making it easier for you to write D-SNP business in Texas.
As of September 23, 2024, Cigna Healthcare can use the Texas verification system to determine eligibility for members who qualify for partial Medicaid, like the Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) program. This means that they no longer require you to submit proof of Medicaid coverage (such as an award letter) with the enrollment application.
Here's how you can check if your customer qualifies for Medicaid:
The Medicare/Medicaid lookup tool is already available in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
There may be times when it is unavailable to verify Medicaid status (i.e., if the customer recently qualified for Medicaid). In these cases, additional information may be requested to confirm eligibility, such as an award letter.
If you are not able to verify Medicaid coverage on CignaForBrokers, please contact CARL.
