Premium change for SureBridge branded Prime DVH

Last year, UHC began notifying agents that customers with a SureBridge branded DVH policy in force for at least 12 months would see a rate adjustment on their next premium payment. Over the next few months, rates for the DVH product (Prime DVH) will be adjusted again in states noted below for existing policies (and for new business in AK, CO, DC, MD, MN, MT, NC, OR, and VA where Prime DVH is still available for new sales).

Who does this change affect and when?

  • July 1, 2023 - Customers with policies issued in the states of AR, AZ, CT, ID, KS, LA, MI, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, WV, WY will see their rate adjusted on their premium payment due on or after July 1 (based on their current     premium effective date).
  • August 1, 2023 - Customers with policies issued in the states of AL, FL, GA, IL, KY, ME, NV, PA, SC, TX, UT, WI will see their rate adjusted on their premium payment due on or after August 1 (based on their current premium     effective date).
  • October 1, 2023 - Customers with policies issued in the states of AK, DC, MD, MN, MT will see their rate adjusted on their premium payment due date on or after October 1 (based on their current premium effective date).
  • For policies in force fewer than 12 months, the premium adjustment will occur on the first premium due date following their first policy anniversary
  • For policies in force more than 12 months, the premium adjustment will occur on the first premium due date following the anniversary of their last rate increase.

How is this being communicated to customers?

  • A letter is mailed between 31-75 days in advance (depending on the state) notifying the Prime DVH customer of the rate change, when it will take effect, and the increase amount.

What is the premium change?

  • Increases will vary by state, but generally range from 8-28%.

Rate adjustments on Prime DVH will likely occur through early 2024 in remaining states where an action has not yet been taken. This will be the final communication to agents on this topic, but any client who may be affected will receive advance notification.
