UnitedHealthcare underwritten by the Chesapeake Life Insurance Company is excited to announce a new generation of dental and vision products launching 6/23. The product suite will feature DentalWise (standalone dental), VisionWise (standalone vision), and DentalWiseMax (dental, vision, hearing). The new products will feature UnitedHealthcare networks, no waiting periods, implant coverage on some plans and more! If you currently aren’t selling dental and vision plans, consider these benefits.
Diabetes, asthma, and heart disease are just a handful of conditions that may be linked to oral health. In fact, an individual is two to three times more likely to have heart disease if they have gum disease.1 DentalWise and DentalWise Max cover preventive services day one at 100% with no deductible (up to annual maximum; 2 cleanings per policy year), making getting your teeth cleaned easy and affordable.
A lot of people don’t see (no pun intended) the benefits of regular eye exams. According to AOA,2 eye exams can help identify 270 chronic conditions, including diabetes and hypertension. In addition, 90% of vision loss could be prevented or treated with regular visits to their vision provider (UnitedHealthcare Utilization Report, 2022). Whether the client accesses the vision benefits in VisionWise or DentalWise Max (DVH), annual visits to an optometrist are easy and affordable.
According to KFF, one in five Medicare beneficiaries who used dental services spent more than $1,000.3 If your senior clients are on a limited budget and can’t afford large dental expenses, then utilizing dental insurance might be a more cost-effective way to receive care. With annual maximums ranging from $1,000 to $3,000, you can find a plan that meets your client’s budget and coverage needs.
Businesswire.com states that 77 million adults do not currently have dental insurance (29.8%).4 In the same article they stated that 1 in 4 (25.1%) people without dental insurance reported that their overall health has gotten worse over the past year compared to those with dental insurance (19.9%). There are plenty of prospects out there that might benefit from a dental plan.
