Medicare Premiums Announced and Other News

Over the weekend, the 2022 Medicare premiums and deductible were announced, and as with the Social Security COLA increase, Medicare premiums and deductibles also saw a healthy increase. Medicare’s Open Enrollment Is Open Season for Scammers

Medicare officials say complaints are rising from seniors lured into private plans with misleading information or enrolled without their consent. In response, officials have threatened to penalize the private companies selling Medicare Advantage and drug plans if they or agents working on their behalf mislead consumers.

Costly Alzheimer’s Drug Fuels Record Medicare Premium Hike

The standard monthly premium for Medicare outpatient, or “Part B,” coverage, will be $170.10 in 2022, up from $148.50 in 2021, senior Biden administration officials said Friday.
