Important updates for Virginia Cigna Healthcare clients' policies

Reminder about changes due to the Virginia Health Insurance Exchange

As you know, Virginia now has its own state-based insurance marketplace for Affordable Care Act (ACA) members, the Virginia Health Insurance Exchange. For plan year 2024, your clients will see their current Cigna HealthcareSM plans move from the federal marketplace to the Virginia Health Insurance Exchange. Due to this, you may see several changes to your Virginia clients' policies in your Book of Business.

What to know:

• As your clients' plans move to the Virigina Health Insurance Exchange, you will see new case and member ID numbers
• Your renewing clients will appear as new policies in your Book of Business
• Your clients' auto-payments on the Federal Marketplace will not be carried over from 2023. Your clients could re-enroll in the "autopay" option for their monthly bill if that continues to be their preference by following these steps: Log in to www.cigna.com/ifp-payment to pay online; After logging in to the payment portal, your clients will see two policies. Select the 2024 plan and complete the steps to make a payment; Pay with their bank account information by calling 877.900.1237

Your clients should have received a letter from Cigna Healthcare in December, including a confirmation of their 2024 plan selection and more information on how to make the transition to the Virginia Health Insurance Exchange.
