IMPORTANT UPDATE: New Deeming Period feature will launch 7/13 in Centene Workbench!

A new feature is scheduled to launch July 13, 2023 in Centene Workbench to help you assist members within the Medicaid Redetermination Deeming Period! During the declared public health Emergency (PHE), Medicaid redeterminations were on hold. Once the PHE ended on May 11, 2023, states were able to resume redeterminations as early as February 1, 2023. The below resources and new Deeming Period feature (Launching 7/13/2023) will assist you with ensuring effected members are supported with maintaining continuity of coverage!

Highlights of the Deeming Period Feature:

  • This new feature will be located within your Book of Business in Centene Workbench
  • You will receive a monthly notification in your Broker Portal letting you know if you have member(s) who have entered the Deeming Period
  • You will be able to extract a list of members within the Deeming Period for targeted outreach to assist these members in obtaining alternative coverage options

Why Is it Important for Me to Take Action?

  • Wellcare members at risk of losing their Medicaid coverage through the recently reinstated redetermination process will need your help to obtain new coverage and maintain continuity of care. Redetermination processes are well underway in all states, and up to 15 million individuals are at risk of losing coverage.

Important Notes:

  • Members can contact the state directly to update their contact information or find their renewal/redetermination date.
  • Wellcare’s trusted partner Centauri is available to aid members enrolled in a Wellcare Dual Special Needs Plan who may need to reapply for Medicaid and the Medicare Savings Plan. Their staff is well-trained to support members. Centauri is specifically for the Dual Special Needs Plan, not any other redetermination.
