

Highmark was recently made aware of a diabetic supply co-pay issue that has impacted some of our Western New York and Northeastern New York members. Although diabetic supplies should have a $0 copay, a coding glitch is causing a 20% coinsurance to be charged for these items. We are working diligently to implement a solution as quickly as possible and sincerely apologize for any negative impact your clients may have experienced.
If your clients have been impacted, please advise them of the following:
Highmark will provide an update once the issue has been resolved and offer their assurance that they are working to prevent this from happening in the future.
