Humana Topic of the Week: DSNP Verification tool

Humana added the DSNP verification tool to the Vantage portal a few years ago. Being able to confirm someone’s status without having to call in during working hours was truly important to agents.

Currently, Humana does not offer DSNP plans in MA or RI, but knowledge is power and especially if you are selling across state lines into a state that does have them.  What are a few standout opportunities with this tool?

• There is a DSNP verification link on the tool that helps you identify what states there are DSNP plans in, what the plan # is, and what levels of Medicaid are covered.
• When searching for a beneficiaries eligibility, you can use their social security number.  It’s easier sometimes for the beneficiary to recall this.
• When Humana confirms eligibility – you will then receive their Medicare and Medicaid number.

Reminder – If you are doing paper applications, there are 2 universal applications. The DSNP paper application is universal to be used on all DSNP plans Humana offers. There will be a section on this app that requires the Medicaid number to be filled in. The other universal application is for all MA and PDP plans that is separate from the DSNP app.
