As Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York and Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York continue to integrate with systems in use across the rest of Highmark's footprint, one important change we're looking forward to in 2023 is an improvement to the Broker of Record (BoR) retention process.
As of March 31, 2023, the BoR update process currently in place in our New York regions will be discontinued. The good news is, with the full migration to Highmark's portal and enrollment system, you will be protected should your members make any plan changes via one of our internal sales channels. With this change, you will remain BoR and you will continue to receive renewal commissions for these members, as long as you continue to meet ready to sell criteria.
More details, including the new BoR update process, will be forthcoming as weapproach 2023 and we'll send you reminders along the way to keep this information front of mind.
Highmark BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and Highmark BlueShield of Northeastern New York will no longer pay commissions on Medigap policies beginning with 1/1/2023 effective dates.
