Revised Enrollment Application Leads to Easier and Faster Enrollment and Medical Underwriting.
Based on your feedback, Empire BCBS is releasing a newly revised Medicare Supplement enrollment application! In addition to other enhancements that will speed the enrollment process, the new application is designed to make it easier on you and your client(s) when medical underwriting* is required.
A system release scheduled the weekend of August 13, 2021 will bring the electronic enrollment tools in line with the application updates. Empire BCBS will accept the current paper application through the end of day on September 30, 2021. After this date, the updated Medicare Supplement application will be required.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If you started an electronic Medicare Supplement application prior to the release date of August 13 and it is incomplete, you MUST either:
After August 12, you will still have access to the incomplete electronic application, but you will be unable to complete the application online or submit the application electronically. In order to complete the app you will need to print it, and complete the application including signatures, on paper. You will then need to submit the completed paper applications by fax or mail to be received no later than September 30.
On August 17, 2021, the hard-copy enrollment kits will be ready for ordering through CustomPoint. The kit will include the updated application and enrollment instructions page.
* Application updates related to medical underwriting do not apply to Connecticut (CT), New York (NY) or Maine (ME).
