Duke Health remains in-network with UnitedHealthcare

UnitedHealthcare and Duke Health have reached agreement on a new multi-year contract for the health system’s hospitals, facilities and its physicians. The agreement ensures people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans as well as Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) have continued, uninterrupted network access to the health system.

What you need to know

• UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members have continued, uninterrupted network access to Duke Health’s hospitals, facilities and its physicians with no change.
• UnitedHealthcare is in the process of mailing letters to Medicare Advantage and D-SNP members who previously received communication from them regarding the possibility Duke Health could leave the network. These letters will inform members they’ll continue to have network access to Duke Health’s hospitals, facilities and its physicians.
• UnitedHealthcare has also updated their website at www.uhc.com/duke to notify members that an agreement has been reached. The link to the website was previously included in letters that were sent to members regarding the negotiation.

Your role

• Ensure members are aware that Duke Health will continue to remain in the Medicare Advantage network with no change. Encourage members who have questions about in-network health care providers to call the customer service number on their UnitedHealthcare UCard® or use the provider directory on myuhcmedicare.com
