Cigna's Seniors Day Coming on March 7th

Cigna and Walgreens have joined forces to bring you Seniors Day in 2023! The event will take place during this open enrollment period (OEP) on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. This is a great opportunity for agents to get out into their communities, represent Cigna in a     designated Walgreens store, further develop relationships with potential members, and generate leads.      


Important facts:

  • 6,401 Walgreens stores will participate in our Cigna-sponsored Seniors Day.
  • Seniors Day is an ongoing campaign at Walgreens, so many senior customers are expected to come and take advantage of the benefits.

Here are some ways that Walgreens is incentivizing potential customers:

  • Approximately 8 million myWalgreens members will be receiving emails notifying them of the Seniors Day event.
  • Customers will receive a 20% discount from Walgreens to use in-store or online during Seniors Day. This is a great way for Cigna members to make use of their OTC benefits or their Cigna Healthy Today card.
  • In-store customers will receive a co-branded $1 off buckslip at registers after speaking with a pharmacy team member.

*Please note that all normal retail event processes and procedures must, as always, be followed.





Cigna and Walgreens AEP Digital Marketing Campaign      

During the recent annual enrollment period (AEP) (October 15 - December 7, 2022), Cigna and Walgreens held a co-branded digital marketing campaign to generate prospective Medicare leads into Cigna-staffed Walgreens stores with our “Find an Agent” feature in select      markets.

The goal of our joint AEP digital campaign with Walgreens was to drive prospective customers to learn about multiple ways to enroll in a Cigna Medicare plan, including in-person at a Walgreens store with a Cigna broker or representative. This gave customers the opportunity to meet with someone face-to-face and get answers to all their questions.


This campaign was launched in the following 27 markets:

  • Southeast: Biloxi-Gulfport, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Fort Smith / Fayetteville / Rogers / Springdale, Hattiesburg-Laurel, Jonesboro, Knoxville, Little Rock/Pine Bluff, Memphis, Raleigh, Shreveport, Tampa-St. Pete-Sarasota, and Tri-Cities
  •   Northeast: Baltimore, New Haven, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Salisbury, and Washington, DC
  • West: Dallas-Ft. Worth, Denver, El Paso, Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville-McAllen, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and Tyler-Longview
