If you are a broker selling in Texas, you can now confirm your customers' Medicaid status at the time of sale by using Cigna's lookup tool in CignaForBrokers.
By confirming your customers' Medicaid status using the lookup tool, you'll save time because you'll no longer have to call the state office or search for a recent letter that verifies coverage. In addition, you'll be able to check if your customers qualify for the plans you are assigning.
The lookup tool communicates directly with the state to give you real-time updates. In most cases, the lookup tool will show full and partial beneficiaries and include their statuses like Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB), Qualifying Individual (QI), Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB), etc.
Make sure you try the new lookup tool on your next D-SNP enrollment!
As a reminder, Cigna Healthcare can now use the Texas verification system to determine eligibility for members who qualify for partial Medicaid, like SLMB. This means that they no longer require you to submit proof of Medicaid coverage (such as an award letter) with the enrollment application.
There may be times when they are unable to verify Medicaid status (i.e., if the customer recently qualified for Medicaid). In these cases, additional information may be requested to confirm eligibility, such as an award letter.
If you are not able to verify Medicaid coverage on CignaForBrokers, please contact CARL using the information below or use click-to-chat in Salesforce.
