Annual Notice of Change and Benefits at a Glance letters

Be prepared to answer your clients' questions as they receive these important notices.

Cigna is sending current Medicare Advantage (MA) members the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and the Benefits at a Glance (BAAG) letters. Please read below, so you're prepared to address any client questions.

ANOC:

  • Sample ANOC for review (TotalCare plan) and Cover Letter CignaForBrokers login required
  • Reassures members that there is nothing they need to do to stay on their current MA plan for 2026.
  • Calls out that Cigna is now HealthSpring and have a new look, but continues to be the same trusted partner. Please note, the existing plan name will change to reference "HealthSpring" for 2026.
  • Outlines any cost and benefit changes to the member's current plan that will be effective during the following plan year, including a side-by-side comparison.
  • Informs members that they will receive a new HealthSpring medical ID card and a HealthSpring Flex card (previously known as the Cigna Healthy Today card) in November or December. Current cards can be used through December 31, 2025.
  • Includes online notice (instructions on how to access key 2026 plan documents online). Beginning on October 1st, members can review 2026 benefits online by visiting //HealthSpring.com/Resources.
  • Note: The ANOC contains verbiage and terminology that is approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) which can, in some cases, be difficult to understand for members. We encourage you to take some time to review this document with your clients.

Standard BAAG letter:

  • Sample letter for review CignaForBrokers login required
  • Will be mailed to 541,812 members.
  • Reassures members that there is nothing they need to do to stay on their current MA plan for 2026.
  • Calls out that Cigna is now HealthSpring and have a new look, but continues to be the same trusted partner. Please note, the existing plan name will change to reference "HealthSpring" for 2026.
  • Includes highlights of the member's 2026 plan.
  • Includes an overview of the plan's dental benefit, one additional benefit (i.e., over-the-counter allowance, vision, etc.), and the member incentives program.

BAAG letter regarding plan options:

  • Sample letter for review CignaForBrokers login required
  • Members in markets impacted by non-renewed plans for 2026 will receive a different version of the BAAG letter that highlights an alternate HealthSpring HMO plan, and tells them to call the Plan Change team to explore their plan options.
  • If you haven't already, review the important changes to 2026 plans here.
