The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a new Model beginning in Calendar Year (CY) 2021, the Part D Senior Savings (PDSS) Model. The Model tests the impact of offering beneficiaries plan options with lower out-of-pocket costs on select insulins. In 2022, Aetna Medicare has expanded this model to 34 Medicare Advantage (MAPD) plans across 6 Markets and all SilverScript Plus (PDP) plans.
• Members of participating Aetna MAPD plans can enjoy built-in savings on select insulin prescriptions through the PDSS model.
• On the back of the downloadable, you’ll find the broad range of select insulins chosen from Medicare’s list of participating manufacturers available to members at a reduced cost share. They are also found on the formulary drug list with “SI” to indicate PDSS participation.
