Medicare and Medicaid Eligibility Lookup tool on Jarvis

The Medicare and Medicaid Eligibility Lookup tool allows you to determine Medicare and Medicaid eligibility for members and consumers with ease and convenience.

Medicaid searches also provide a list of plans available for enrollment. Knowing which plan a consumer is eligible for, prior to the enrollment, provides the following benefits:

  • Helps ensure that your member has a good experience the first time
  • Removes the need to enroll them into a new plan after finding out that they are not eligible

Steps to Verify Eligibility

  • From the Jarvis home page select Sales Tools > Medicare & Medicaid Eligibility Lookup
  • Once you are on this page, you can choose Medicare Eligibility or Medicaid Eligibility
  • Fill out the required information
  • Click Check Medicare Eligibility to get the results
  • This button will work once all the information is entered

Important Notes

Partial Dual Status for Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

  • Some state portals do not provide eligibility information for Partial Dual Eligible consumers. Therefore, verification tools, such as the Medicare Medicaid Eligibility Lookup tool in Jarvis, cannot be used to verify partial Medicaid eligibility
  • Instead, a copy of the Medicaid Award letter must be sent to UnitedHealthcare to verify eligibility

Agents with members in Rhode Island must call PHD for Medicaid verification related to full and partial dual eligibles.

Delegate Information

Delegates may NOT engage in licensed sales activity. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Advising an individual on the suitability of a plan or plans based on the individual’s needs
  • Completing an enrollment application on behalf of an enrollee

Reminder - PHD hours during AEP 

During AEP, the Producer Help Desk (PHD) will be open:

  • Monday - Friday 7 a.m.-9 p.m. CT 
  • Saturdays (through Dec. 2) 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT 
  • Sundays closed, except for Sunday, Dec. 3 when PHD is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT 
  • Thanksgiving holiday: Closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and open Friday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Self-Service Options Save time by using Jarvis self-service options for Medicare & Medicaid Verification, Application Status and much more!  

Callback option

Keep your place in line by taking advantage of our callback feature. There’s no waiting on hold as a PHD professional will call you back as soon as it’s your turn.  

  • Service model: If you miss the PHD callback, they’ll call you again in five minutes  
  • Special note: The busiest time of day for the PHD is 10 a.m.-3 p.m., CT

In case you missed it: 2024 Star Ratings plan year results 

UnitedHealthcare is  committed to delivering on quality, with easy access to care, industry  leading benefits and a distinctive, positive experience for the members we’re  privileged to serve. On Oct. 13, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid  Services (CMS) released UnitedHealthcare’s 2024 Star Ratings plan year  performance for Medicare Advantage plans (including individual, Group Retiree  and Dual Special Needs Plans) and Prescription Drug Plans (Part D). We  continue to have more people in 4 and 4.5-star plans or higher than any other  carrier in the industry and over half of our members are in a 4.5-star plan  or higher. For 2024 Star Year Ratings, 79% of our Medicare Advantage members  are in 4-star plans or higher.    

While these results may  differ from previous years, it is important to note they reflect expected  movements from our prior year Star Ratings due to CMS policy and performance  calculation changes to the stars program, which increased the threshold for  the 4-star rating, with industry average at 71%. Star Ratings will come up in  conversations with consumers during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).
