2020 producer certification begins July 10
The producer certification process for 2020 Aetna Medicare MA/MAPD products kicks off on July 10. Certification is one of the annual requirements you must complete to sell our 2020 plans during AEP.
AHIP is required for both Certification and Recertification. Looking to save money? AHIP can be purchased through the Care Value link for $125.00, a $50.00 discount off the original price!
Do your clients need more comprehensive coverage?
Portfolio selling allows you to offer more products, beyond Medicare Advantage, to your clients. Aetna offer products including Hospital Indemnity Flex, Cancer & Heart Attack or Stroke and more! Which means you can provide more support to your clients as they age and their health needs change. It’ll also help you:
- Increase your reputation as the go-to person for Medicare business in the community
- Increase client retention and loyalty
- Streamline your clients health care plan by offering more products from one company

Don’t forget, there’s a blackout period until July 1
Remember, you can’t submit new contracts or make level or hierarchy changes to your current contract until Aetna switches to the new contracting system on July 1. However, you can submit demographic and banking updates through Producer World, and these updates will be made.
Aetna 2019 MAPD plans earned an overall weighted average of 4.0 out of 5.0 stars… Why does that matter?
CMS awards additional funding to health plans based on Star Ratings. If Aetna gets extra money from CMS for Star Ratings, they can use it to improve plans and the care provided to members. As an Aetna agent, you can have a direct impact on some of the Star Rating measures. Learn how you can help improve our star ratings.
